The LJL Officially Unofficial or as I’ll be referring to it as the LJL: OU is a collaborative project to grow our coverage experience within broadcasting and esports while also improving our Casting / Hosting knowledge between Sam Hapgood, Alex Hapgood and myself Alexander Swan.
Since starting the project I / We have done the following:
To be the ONLY unofficial broadcast acknowledged and had footage used by Riot Games
Reached the top of League of Legends sub-Reddit several times with LJL content.
Our first podcast received over three hundred upvotes.
Our reaction to DFM making the Worlds Group Stage received over one thousand upvotes
The Primer for DFM received over three hundred upvotes.
Become experts on the LJL to such an extent that we are invited onto shows, as well as being interviewed for several publications including but not limited to:
InsightOnEsports
Upcommer
The Critical Strike Podcast
JaxonMVP
Inven Global
Became primary consultants on the region for riot talent & provided documentation that has been used on broadcasts.
Pitched and trialled the idea of growing the team.
Onboarded producer’s to come in and produce the broadcast.
Substantially improved the workflow while allowing others to focus on highly specialised skills.
Our end-of-split review was so positive from my co-founders that we looked to grow the team from Four to Thirteen.
Interviewed over 80 candidates to diversify and improve the product.
I was in charge of setting up the google form, managing time slots and communicating with the candidates. I helped lead the interviews and organising and leading the onboarding process.
Led the summer rebrand.
Thanks to our new team, we could bring in those specialising in areas that none of us had, one being graphic artists.
Led the review of a new logo and pitched ideas for the broadcast.
We have become the benchmark for amateur broadcasts without a budget in under two years.
Proved that niche content and minor regions have a global appeal.
Year on year, the LJL: OU has achieved the following statistics:
Increased its hours watched by 58%
Gained over 42% more views
Earned over 112% of followers
We’ve also achieved the following:
Recorded over 65 episodes of our podcast.
Broadcasted over 650 hours.
The Spring Finals coverage achieved over one thousand peek viewers.
